01 · The starting point

The company moves freight across Germany and into the neighbouring EU countries. Everyone asks the same thing — «what does a pallet to Warsaw cost» — and every time it was answered by hand, in chat. What was missing was a place where a person sees the shipping formats, the transit times and the shape of the price before writing in.

02 · What I built

A single page carrying the whole customer path: six shipping formats with a «from» price, destinations and transit times for thirteen countries, a three-step calculator, the workflow, reviews and an enquiry form. Three languages — German, English and Russian — each with its own Impressum and Datenschutz, without which a site cannot be published in Germany. The first screen is a scroll-driven sequence: across Germany in 24–48 hours, into the neighbouring EU countries in 1–3 days.

03 · What changed

A visitor gets a price and transit estimate in a minute without registering, and the company gets a link to send in reply to «how much does it cost» instead of pricing every request in chat.

04 · The hard part

The hard part was not the site but the tariff. In freight the price depends on distance, volume, load type and surcharges, and pricing all of it honestly would turn the calculator into a twenty-field questionnaire. I reduced it to three steps: route, cargo, options. The calculator returns an estimate straight away and says plainly that the binding price is confirmed by a manager — so the visitor leaves with a figure and the company is not tied to a number nobody approved.
